Miniature Maltese Puppies

In recent years, miniature pets, especially dogs have become a must have accessory to complete an outfit. In nature, runts, or the smallest puppies in the litter are usually left or abandoned by the mother because they have less chances of survival. The mother can detect that the smallest ones are also the weakest ones. Some Teacup breeders choose the smallest ones from one litter, and mate them with the smallest ones from another litter. Though this does not guarantee miniature puppies, the chances are greater. However, cute as they may be, they also have greater chances of developing deficiencies less seen in normal sized dogs. Other times, puppies may have conditions that keep them small. These conditions can cause a great deal of suffering for you and your puppy and at times, may even be fatal.

If you still feel that a Miniature Maltese puppies or any other Teacup breed is right for you, do the necessary research. Check out and if possible, talk to different breeders. Choosing a reputable breeder is a must. Full disclosure of the puppies' condition and certified papers is necessary so that you know what to expect when you bring home your little bundle.  As mentioned above, read up on the known conditions that pre-exist or can develop in dogs bred to be small.

Miniature Maltese puppies are already considered toy dogs. This means, they are smaller and more fragile than other breeds. They are very high-maintenance dogs who require a lot of attention from their owners. It is best not to leave them alone for long periods of time. They also have a reputation of being difficult to potty train and difficult to feed, as they are very fussy about what they eat.

On the bright side, Miniature Maltese puppies are very intelligent and due to their size, easy to carry around. They are adorable and well-mannered and even though they are considered long-haired, they shed very little and thus a suitable companion for people suffering from pet allergies.

Puppies are cute and small. They also require a lot of responsibility and time. Instead of buying a baby, why not consider adopting a full-grown dog. Adult dogs have more or less fully developed their personalities. You can also look for ones that have been trained. These dogs will be as loyal to you as one you have raised from puppyhood. Adoption is almost always win-win situation for everyone. The dog gets a second chance at life and you get a new friend.
